MIAMI,
FL- Robert B. Ingram, Ph.D., has been appointed Assistant
to the President for Urban Affairs at Florida Memorial
College. In announcing the appointment, Dr. Albert E.
Smith, President of the College, said that Dr. Ingram
will serve as a liaison between the College and federal,
state, local, county governmental offices.
Dr. lngram, who is the former mayor of
the City of Opa-Iocka and currently serves on the Miami-Dade
County Public Schools' Board, will be responsible for
identifying federal, state, local, county governmental
programs and funding opportunities for the College. Additionally,
he will serve as an adviser to the President, and sit
on the Presidents Cabinet, which makes decisions pertaining
to the day-to-day operations of the College. "It
is my responsibility to weave the unique qualities that
Florida Memorial College has to offer our community with
the needs of governmental institutions in order to take
advantage of the opportunities which lie ahead in the
new millennium, said Dr. Ingram.
