On
Monday November 18th at 6:00 pm, the first annual Read
To Lead Talent Contest will be held at Nathan B. Young
Elementary School. Fourteen elementary schools will be
competing. The talent contest seeks to highlight the creative
works our students displayed, the dances they created,
the stories they developed, the plays they performed,
the poems they wrote and other creative endeavors they
came up with in preparation of the Read To Lead Scholarship
Tour.
The
Read To Lead Talent Contest is a part of the Read To Lead
Program an initiative launched by Dr. Robert B. Ingram,
member of Miami-Dade County School Board for District
1. This innovative program was developed to improve reading
among elementary school children.
