Dr.
Robert B. Ingram's "Read to Lead" program
held its first ever "Read to Lead" Apple
iMovie Academy Awards on Tuesday December 17, 2002
at Brentwood Elementary School.
Five finalists were selected
to create an iMovie on their families. The winners were,
in First Place, Daniel McKenzie, in Second Place, Jonathan
Barros with Alexis Britt in Third Place.
Greetings
were given by Brentwood's Principal Dr. Samuel J. Stinson
with Assistant Principal, Ms. Gloria M. Young speaking
about the popular Read to Lead competition. Prizes
for Best Producer were taken by Isaiah Williams while
Best Director went to Second Place winner, Jonathan Barros.
First Place winner, Daniel McKenzie to the award for Best
Story and Best Narration. The prize for Best Audio went
to Rodrice Jordan.
Miami-Dade
School Board staff members Erhabor Onaiwu and Kathy Johnson
administered the Apple iMovie Competition
under the direction and supervision of Dr. Robert B. Ingram,
Vice Chairman of the School Board and Board Member for
District 1 schools.
The
Read to Lead program activities are designed to
encourage strong reading habits with creative activities
that make the words 'come alive' to enhance the academic
performances of elementary students in District 1.
