Operating
on what seems like boundless energy, Dr. Robert B. Ingram,
member of the Miami-Dade County School Board and chair
of the Florida Martin Luther King, Jr. Institute for Non-Violence
and the 500 Role models for Excellence addressed two groups.
Dr. Ingram was a guest speaker at the Second
Annual Multicultural Education Conference in Dania, where
he electrified attendees at the conference with his talk
on Multicultural education: A Cornerstone for Curriculum
and Understanding.
A man of great concern for our children,
Dr. Ingram also participated in a panel discussion for
the benefit of juvenile offenders at the Turner Guilford
Knight Correctional Center. A former Miami police officer
and Opa-Locka police chief, Dr. Ingram spoke on the topic
of "Going Home with a Purpose." Dr. Ingram stressed
to the youth that "Doing the right thing may not
always be easy, but it will always be right."
