SCHOOL
BOARD MEMBER ROBERT INGRAM PERFORMS COPLAND'S 'LINCOLN
PORTRAIT'
Miami-Dade County School Board Member Robert
B. lngram, who already has logged successful careers in
law enforcement and municipal administration, has launched
another as a musical narrator.
Dr. lngram served as guest narrator for
the New World Symphony's recent performance of "Lincoln
Portrait" during the orchestra's Copland Centennial
festival. The performance consisted of a series of narrated
passages from Lincoln's writings with a full orchestra
in the background.
After receiving national recognition for ou!standing service
with the City of Miami Police Department, Dr. Ingrain
went on to become police chief, and eventually, city manager
and mayor, of the City of Opa-locka.
His performance with the New world
Symphony took place, appropriately enough, in the Lincoln
Theatre on Miami Beach.
