On Thursday January 30th,
2002 Miami-Dade County School Board Member Dr. Robert
B. Ingram addressed the student body at Miami Carol City
Senior High School in preparation for the upcoming FCAT
(Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test) exam. The event
"FCAT GAME NIGHT", organized by the Miami Carol
City Senior High School's PTSA, served as a community
rally to mobilize and motivate student academic achievement
in the FACT. Other community participants include, State
Representative Wilbert "Tee" Holloway, and members
of the National Football League (NFL). Dr. Ingram reminded
parents and participants that there are two symbols we
need our students to master: numbers and letters. "It
is our collective responsibility that we ensure that our
children understand the manipulation of these symbols,
they can and they will," said Dr. Ingram.
