One School Board Member Dr. Bob Ingram featured presenter
at The Florida Conference of Black State Legislators.
MIAMI DADE COUNTY, FL. (September 3, 1999)
School Board Member Dr. Robert B. Ingram District 1, participated
as a presenter at The Florida Conference of Black State
Legislators (FCBSL), 4th Annual Statewide Issues Conference,
held at the Wyndham Miami Biscayne Bay Hotel in Miami,
Florida.
The subject of Dr. Ingram's presentation
was "Preserve and Protect: Out of the Crossfire of
Youth Gun Violence".
Dr. Ingram noted that, as elected officials,
"we must come to grips with the reality of today's
world - a world that exposes young people to violence
on a daily basis via peer-pressure, television, news media,
video games and radio."
Dr. Ingram further indicated that "Our
goal must be educate other elected or appointed officials
as well as community leaders on strategies to stem the
tide of violence in Florida's African -American communities."
